but I've already found similar words with consonants close together. On my layout vowels are spread out, so that fixes a lot of problems. On qwerty I continually mix up "in/on, out/put, if/of", so some of the most common words ever, which means I have to always check my screen. Now I have to write a program to figure out a layout which keeps keys separated. It's better than JBak for predictions, but no replacement for SwiftKey! The "Multiling O" keyboard allows me to change the layout and has pretty good predictions, so it will do for now.
#Create custom keypad layout android install
I was hoping that there would be a way to just make my own language for SwiftKey, and install it into it's data directory, or something like that.Īt the moment my own layout has it's flaws, so I'm going to work on it a bit. Why go to so much hassle? because I know it's possible to text without looking at my screen, and I like being able to look up at the world whilst texting at a fast speed, followed by a quick proof read. I'm currently using JBak keyboard with my own layout, but it's autocorrect is rubbish. Swiftkey is the best for autocorrection, and the smartest so far. So yeah, I made my own layout, and if it's not perfect, I have an idea for writing a program which can figure out a better layout, and I will continually test each new layout.Īnd yes I've tried LOADS of android keyboards and also different layouts(qwerty, colemak, dvorak, azerty, etc). I can text without looking, but every time I look at my screen, I see the same errors caused by certain keys being too close. I want one which allows me to be sloppy and have really good autocorrect. I am willing to relearn a layout, and it's really easy for me to do. Is there any way to add my own layout into the language select screen? Maybe if I rooted my phone? I have made my own layout, and want to test it out on SwiftKey :).

Hello, SwiftKey is the best keyboard, but the qwerty layout has flaws, as well as all the other keyboard layouts for thumb typing.
